HR Generalist

We are looking to expand the Hazelight team with a full time HR Generalist at our offices in Södermalm, Stockholm.

 

Who are we?

Hazelight is an independently owned game development studio, in March 2018 we released our first title A Way Out on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. We have now embarked on our next creative adventure and are growing our team. Hazelight was founded by acclaimed director Josef Fares in 2014 and is quickly becoming a rising star in the gaming industry. The Hazelight team is around 50 people today, all working in our waterfront office in Stockholm.

 

What’s the job?

As our new HR Generalist, you will be responsible for administering, coordinating and developing our HR initiatives and processes. We are looking for a candidate who will thrive in a fast-paced office environment, in a young and creative business. Your work will encompass wide ranges of HR such as recruitment, onboarding, employer branding, compensation & benefits as well as supporting management in work environment efforts and day to day HR efforts.

You, our new kick-ass HR Generalist, will have a broad experience in the field of HR, preferably from working primarily in smaller, fast-moving office environments. You will work very closely with studio management to further develop and implement our HR efforts.

 

Qualifications

Required:

  • Academic degree within relevant field.
  • 3+ years of applicable work experience within HR.
  • Genuine passion for working with employees and proactively solving problems.
  • You have a strong personal drive and work just as well within a team as you do working solo on projects and tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written, in Swedish and in English.
  • Good knowledge of Swedish employment law and current HR practices.
  • You have strong integrity, are loyal and have an impeccable ability to maintain confidentiality.

Preferable start date is mid-August to early September 2019.

Audio Programmer

We are looking to expand the Hazelight team with a full time Audio Programmer.

Hazelight is an independently owned game development studio and we just released our first title A Way Out on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. We are now embarking on our next creative adventure. Hazelight is led by Josef Fares, writer and director of A Way Out and Brothers –A Tale of Two Sons.

At Hazelight we have a company culture of direct constructive feedback, always based on what would be best for our game. You must be ready to take responsibility and work efficiently and independently on assigned tasks within set deadlines. It is important that you thrive in a team setting since we are working in an open office environment.

As our new Audio Programmer you will work on-site with Hazelight’s great development team in our offices in Stockholm, Sweden. We have just moved into our own corner of the magnificent Münchenbryggeriet by the waterfront in Södermalm, Stockholm.

Responsibilities

As the Audio Programmer, you will be responsible for providing programming support for the audio team. You will be tasked with developing audio tools for game development content authoring and build pipelines, and be the designated owner of the design and creation of those tools, in collaboration, and with the input of the rest of the audio team.

This will include creating scripts to automate various workflow-related tasks on developer workstations, developing automated content cooking pipelines, and integrating existing middleware functionality into the game’s engine.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills and experience working within a team.
  • Deep understanding of C++ and Unreal Engine 4 is required.
  • Experience programming Python scripts for automation and a strong grasp of programming fundamentals.
  • Prior experience working with Wwise audio middleware and Reaper. Experience in Reascript is meritorious.
  • Knowledge of version control in general, with experience using and/or automating Git and Perforce.
  • An in depth interest/understanding of audio is needed.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Documented experience working with on at least one AAA game.
  • 3-5 year experience as a Programmer, working in the game industry.

VFX Artist

We are looking to expand the Hazelight team with a full time VFX Artist.

As our new VFX Artist you will work on-site with Hazelight’s great development team in our offices in Stockholm, Sweden. Last year we moved into our own corner of the magnificent Münchenbryggeriet by the waterfront in Södermalm, Stockholm.

Responsibilities

As a VFX Artist at Hazelight, you will be working in Unreal Engine 4, creating and implementing visual effects in our levels in coordination with Level Designers, Artists and other team members. Along with the rest of the VFX and Technical Art team you are expected to maintain, iterate and optimize your effect systems throughout the course of the Project. On your own initiative, as well as guided by requests and feedback from other members of the Art team, you will create your own materials, meshes and textures, bringing your systems from initial idea to final implemented effect.

 

Qualifications

Required:

Experience making great looking particle effects for games.

Baking sprite sheets / creating custom assets for effects.

Material / Shader editing. (UE4 Material Editor or HLSL)

Good understanding of performance.

Being able to take initiative, constantly striving to improve the VFX in our games

Strong ability to work in a team, actively seeking and providing feedback in a positive way

 

 

Optional:

Houdini.

Unreal Engine 4 Niagara effects pipeline.

Ability to do some scripting / Effects implementation. (Triggers, Attaching effects to animations etc.)

Modo.
